Man
I love to eat cornbread, I eat it about ev'ry day In ev'ry
possible style and in ev'ry possible way I like to eat it
hot and steamy right from the pan I drive around and eat
cornbread in my '96 Nissan Quest mini van

April 2004
Take some funk from Memphis, put it together with some jazz and groove from Nawlins and add some original catchy flavor, local band Sugar Free Allstars are making their mark on the Norman scene. After gaining a following playing local bares such as Bills and with established Oklahoma product the All American Rejects, these funksters take pride in their eclectic yet original mix of organs, pianos, saxophones, and catchy bass lines that would make even Ben Folds proud. Song titles such as Cover Band Boyfriend, Cornbread and Buddhist in a Beemer give this band a unique and comical way of attracting fun-loving music fans. Though this band is still wallowing in the depths of the local scene, much success and notoriety is nothing less than deserved and hopefully headed their way. While creativity and wittiness heard through the lyrics of singer Chris Wiser appear to be the drive of the band, the rest of the members no doubt help exemplify this innovative blend of rock, funk, soul and jazz that is virtually unparalleled in this local scene.
